Over-Rated Walk for an Ice Cream

Geht Ihr für ein Eis meilenweit?

Mein lieber Mann und ich hatten am Wochenende plötzlich Lust auf ein Eis. Und da wir der Meinung sind, dass man sein Leben so angenehm wie möglich gestalten soll, haben wir uns unseren Wunsch in der Eisdiele in der nächsten Stadt erfüllt.

Entsprechend zufrieden schlenderten wir beide eisschleckend durch die Stadt, als ein Auto neben uns hielt. Im Auto saß eine Bäuerin aus unserem Ort, die wir gut kennen und der wir fast täglich bei unseren Spaziergängen begegnen,

Die Bäuerin kurbelte schnell das Fenster herunter und rief uns völlig perplex zu: „Seid’s z’Fuaß nei ganga?“ Dies bedeutet in die hochdeutsche Sprache übersetzt, dass die Bäuerin uns fragte, ob wir zu Fuß von unserem Dorf in die Stadt gegangen waren.

Mein Mann und ich schauten uns lachend an und erwiderten dann unisono: „Nein!“ Und mein Mann ergänzte: „Für ein Eis wäre uns nämlich ein Fußmarsch von insgesamt 4 Stunden dann doch zu weit gewesen. Deswegen sind wir mit dem Auto hergekommen. Aber danke dafür, dass Du uns für so dermaßen sportlich einschätzt.“

Da lachte die Bäuerin: „Euch hätte ich das zugetraut, denn sonst sehe ich Euch ja bloß zu Fuß. Lasst Euch das Eis noch gut schmecken und bis bald. Wir sehen uns sicher wieder in den nächsten Tagen, wenn Ihr wieder unser Dorf bei Euren Spaziergängen unsicher macht.“

Und nachdem wir uns freundlich verabschiedet hatten, mussten mein Mann und ich noch eine ganze Weile darüber schmunzeln, was andere Menschen einem zutrauen können.

Wobei ich zugebe, dass nicht nur die blauen-weißen Plateau-Sandaletten meines heutigen Outfits mit dem weißen Bleistiftrock und dem pink-blauen Blumenmuster, der pinken Jacke und dem großen Strohhut vielleicht nicht ganz so geeignet für einen meilenweiten Fußmarsch sind …

How many miles do you walk for an ice cream?

Namely, my lovely husband and I had at the weekend suddenly a craving for ice cream. As we have the opinion that one should make life as pleasant as possible, we fulfilled our desire in the ice cream shop in the next town.

Happy we strolled through the city during we ate our ice cream when a car pulled up beside us. In the car sat a farmer from our village who we know well and whom we meet almost every day during our daily walks.

The farmer rolled quickly down the window and called out perplexed in the Bavarian dialect of our region: "Did you walk this long way by foot from our village into this town?"

My husband and I looked at each other, laughed and then replied in unison: "No!" And my husband added: "Only for an ice cream a walk all in all 4 hours would have been even for us too much. That's why we drove by car to the town. But thank you a lot that you assess us for so sporty."

A big grin appeared on the farmer's face, "I really would have expected that you came by foot to the town, as normally I see you just walking. Please enjoy further your ice cream. See you soon! We certainly will meet us again shortly, as I know how often you stroll through our village."

After we friendly had said goodbye, my husband and I still laughed quite a while and were astonished which capabilities are ascribed to the fellow men.

Whereupon I have to admit that not only the blue-and-white platform sandals of my outfit of today with the white pencil skirt with the blue-and-pink floral pattern on it, the pink jacket and the big straw hat maybe aren’t directly appropriate for a long walk ...
